Based in the Chicago-area, I have covered major stories for some of the country's most prestigious media outlets, among them Bloomberg Business News, Tribune Co.-owned Chicago Magazine, Crain's Chicago Business, where I was editor, and WBBM Newsradio 780, where I hosted a live, daily half-hour business-news/interview show. I have regularly reported and commented on TV newscasts and public-affairs programs aired on stations owned and operated by NBC, CBS, FOX and PBS.
I ’ve also interviewed some of the country’s best-known political and business figures. They include former President Bill Clinton, Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates, Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley, NFL Hall-of-Famer Mike Ditka, and scores of corporate CEOs, senior-level executives, Wall Street analysts and experts from the world’s largest industries.
I have won numerous Chicago Headline Club/Peter Lisagor and other journalism awards, including honors from the American Society of Business Press Editors and Society of American Business Editors and Writers, for editing, commentary and reporting. I’ve also been awarded a Knight Center for Specialized Journalism Fellowship in Finance at the University of Maryland.
